McCain Booed At Wis. Rally For Defending Obama

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) ― The anger is getting raw at Republican rallies and John McCain is acting to tamp it down. McCain was booed by his own supporters Friday when, in an abrupt switch from raising questions about Barack Obama's character, he described the Democrat as a "decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."
"If you want a fight, we will fight," McCain said. "But we will be respectful. I admire Sen. Obama and his accomplishments." When people booed, he cut them off.

"I don't mean that has to reduce your ferocity," he said. "I just mean to say you have to be respectful."
"I don't trust Obama," a woman said. "I have read about him. He's an Arab."

McCain shook his head in disagreement, and said:

"No, ma'am. He's a decent, family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with (him) on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign is all about."
    Here's a You Tube link:
A supporter at the McCain town hall-style forum in Lakeville, MN said "Obama is an Arab," which McCain quickly corrected.

Too bad so many of McCain's supporters only support him because they are racist.... Clearly he's trying to show the American public that his supporters' views don't represent his views.

The thing is, however, that McCain's negative advertising (and Palin's stump speeches) is what has really stoked the aggressive, nearly violent tone we are seeing at his rallies. I think he is a little frightened at the genii he has let out of the bottle.

Once he hired the advertising consultants who trashed him in South Carolina in 2000 to help win this campaign he took a big step away from his earlier style of campaigning.

McCain is a liberal and socialist. This election is a win-win for all the pinko-communist on SN.

So when do you think he became this? When he was in Hanoi Hilton or in the Navy defending your right to make silly statements. 8)
