    Hey there KC,

Four of the five things you list haven't been built. For you economic and math majors, that's 80%! (and the $$ amount is is less than 10%)

That's not even a nice try. That's a weak stick.

Why don't you research how much tax subsidy is involved so you can be accurate, and subtract that amount.

(I won't ask you to research the negative impact of adjacent communities.)

Are you on the payroll of Legends and Obama?

All but one has been approved and that one mostly likely will be. Ground breaking has already began on some projects, others to begin soon .

Tax subsidy is negligable compared to projected economic growth.
(Still growing in a economic turndown)

I doubt the Govt of WYCO cares about the negative impact on adjacent communties. Their to busy reaping the rewards!

WYCO Govt spurred economic growth. Period!!!!!

Would you like to be on their payroll I hear there are a lot of good paying jobs.

Whats Obama have to do with this? Didnt think he had anything to do with WYCO.

If I worked for Obama why would I be worried about people in KS? I would concentrate on Mo the state I live in( Case you havent heard its up for grabs)!

With results like this I hope the WYCO Govt keeps intervening!

You can keep talking but they keep making money!

Most the Butler Co. residence I know do the majority of their shopping in Butler Co. Between El Dorado and Andover we have most of what we need around here. Not that we ignore Wichita, but it's not the first place most I know go.

About the only money I spend in SG is on Shocker tix and sometimes gas. I may stop by a Best Buy or GameStop once every few months or so.

ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking

I apparently don't know many from the part you are from, but farther north, most of the money is spent in Wichita. Many spend money in El Dorado and Newton too, but Wichita is a popular choice.

I was just using it as an example with the other debate that just because a county has all the jobs, it doesn't mean that the money isn't spent there by the people that live in a county seperatefrom where they work.

Well, it looks like my biggest fear this election day has been realized. I am going to seriously look at moving out of this backwards, redneck, city. Any town that would elect this small-minded extremist is not a town I want to live in.

A very sad day for Wichita and its future...

I agree cold. I can't believe that Peterjohn was elected, then again, I can't believe that the school bond only passed by 1,500 votes. We have too many backward thinking people in this city and it's very sad. I keep hoping one day that it will change, but it might not. I'm proud of my city and I want it to become better so that we can keep our young talent here instead of them leaving for greener pastures. I guess some don't feel the same way. Sad indeed.

And exactly what do you think is creating these greener pastures?

Government buliding projects? Do you think that's what causes people to move to certain locations?

The bond issue did pass - so with your logic that will cause more people to move into Wichita.

BTW, Sedgwick County is a net loser of residents. And a net loser of residents to the surrounding counties who do not have a riverfront, arena, Old Town, Hyatt etc etc etc.

It's always been backwards. Electing one guy isn't going to make it all that worse. IMO I don't think most Wichita residents can be much more backwards than they already are which is a good thing. I accepted a long time ago that Wichita is truly a big small town and have accepted and am dealing with it until I can move.

This point of view is always fascinating to me.

Wichita is backwards compared to what and where?

It's backwards to any progressive city. It's always years behind the other cities.. thats just how it is. Im not saying it's a bad thing... it is for me but to many others they like it this way. America needs different cities with different views on how to live... that's a good thing.... I was born in the wrong place unfortunantly.

I don't think there's anything wrong with conserving traditional ideologies. Somehow, Wichita (over the past 5-6 years) always seems to rank in the top 10 of places to live. You've all pretty much escaped the mortgage crisis, and actually Wichita State's economic analysis of 2009 remains strong.
