Debate #3: Obama vs McCain
Collapse

McCain did win the awards for:
- Ignoring the most questions
- Knowing more about the opponent's plan than his own
- Most consistent in continual opponent attacking (In the first debate, he was all about how he wouldn't be a negative smear campaign man..lol.. very childish)
- Not knowing what eye contact meansDeuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

However, this race isn't gonna be a blowout. It'll come down to a state or two in the end.

McCain calls for federal bailout of homeowners
In a bold effort to reverse his sagging fortunes after a month of dire economic news, Republican Sen. John McCain said Tuesday night that if he is elected president, he will order the Treasury to buy up Americans’ bad mortgages and renegotiate new loans that reflect their homes’ diminished value.

This was the most ridiculous debate I have ever seen in my life…..I spent the evening curled up in the fetal position screaming at the T.V. – much to my wonderful wife’s chagrin. Not for nothing but I could have done better….
I fear for this country. There is nothing new in this debate – it is Carter all over again. How can McCain seem so utterly unprepared at times? This election is about political philosophy – but no one seems to be able to put their finger on it. Nothing in Obama’s background remotely suggests he actually understands what has made this country successful. And McCain is not much better.
Conservatives have allowed themselves to be complacent – one man I respect – William F. Buckley, Jr., must be spinning in his grave.
Trust the government friends – it will fix everything for you. That is what is coming….I’m not sure the Republican party can stop it. Obama and a Democratic Congress will do much damage -- damage it will take decades to undo. I thought for a time that McCain’s nomination was a good move politically – now, I’m not so sure. I trust his judgment with regard to foreign affairs but he seems to lack the conservative economic loadstars to guide him in this current crisis.
Please give me a ray of hope….for right now I see only darkness (not to be dramatic, of course).

I totally agree with Maggie. This is Carter all over....go back and look at the history and I bet you will be stunned at the similarities.
The economic troubles can be summed up as this (to me) which decisions are going to be the best for the country?
If you truly believe Obama/Biden that raising taxes on the rich to give the poor a couple hundred dollars is going to better our country and economy then you have your decision. If you are that short sighted, and choose to ignore the fact that every time taxes are raised the economy falls, then we are all indeed doomed to repeat history.
Nobody wants to talk the truth....that we (and that means many of you and me middle class folks and poor alike) have lived way above our means for entirely too long....it's not Halliburton's fault....it's not W's fault....it's YOUR fault...and now it's time to pay the piper.
But nobody wants to say or hear that.
See you at the bottom.
