After watching this video, can you see the similarities that many others on the "net" have seen, to the young lady in the following video?

If you think G.W. makes us look like idiots to the rest of the world, what kind of effect would Palin have? :(

No, actually I thought Katie was rather lame in her attempt to look intelligent. It is a shame she has no concept of what the words "second guess" mean, but I guess she's not alone.

Sarah was absolutely correct with her answer, if that makes her look bad to the Dems and their foreign allies, no surprise, as neither group seem to wish well for the U.S.A. or Israel.

And "war with Russia", honestly I thought you were intelligent, my obvious mistake.

I suspect if Barry or Joe had made the same statements shown in the videos, the Dems and the rest of the world would be standing in awe of their superior intellect.

Ummm.. there's no way to spin this brother. Sarah looks completely incompetent in the majority of those videos. This is not a Dem/Repub thing, this is a competence thing.

Katie's attempt to look intelligent? A paper-weight could look intelligent next to Palin in those interviews..

I have and continue to support Palin but I have to admit – her interviews have not come off well…at times.

Personally, I think she is being pumped full of talking points. They should just let Palin be Palin and I think she would be fine.

Regardless, she had better do well in the debate.

That's the problem. If they just let Palin be Palin her interviews would be limited to snowmobiles, ANWR, and the history of Eskimos in Alaska. She has no choice but to digest the data they are feeding her and to pretend like she knows what she's talking about.

The debate is going to be scary. Could be a trap for Biden though, he better not beat her up too bad or the American public will hammer him and McCain's campaign will get a boost.

            Cold,
Just when I think you make a couple of credible points, you drop a few turds like these.
I agree with Maggie that Palin does not come off perfect in some interviews. I also agree she is overfilled with 'acceptable' quotes and politico sound bites.
However, the alternative is our 'proud' former community organizer who doesn't have a clue about running a country.
The same clown who believes taxing the heck out of corporations is a sound economic policy. Why do you think businesses shut down factories left and right and set up shop in foreign countries? We already have the second highest tax rate on corporations in the world.
His 'take from the rich and give to the poor' may sound good, but this type of approach only works for the inhabitants of Sherwood Forest.
Their may be a lot of jealously towards those who have, but the reality of basic business economics can be summed in a simple question: When was the last time a poor man gave someone a job? 8)
Above all, make the right call.

Mostly to take advantage of foreign resources like 2.00/hour labor.

We already have the second highest tax rate on corporations in the world.
On paper. But with our tax loopholes most large corporations pay MUCH less.

While I would be the last to condone "wealth redistribution", Obama's craziest tax idea would hardly put a wealthy man in the poor house...

Over the last 10 years or so the gap between the poor and the rich has widened. Perhaps the "playing field" is becoming unleveled? *Gasp*! Listen to me talk, I'm sounding like a worthless liberal.. lol.

I'm still in the undecided camp. I haven't heard anything from either candidate that comes within light years of being a compelling reason to vote for them. All I've found is compelling reasons to vote against both of them.

Now that you know I'm not coming from a partisan viewpoint....

...Palin is a former beauty contest entrant, right? She sure sounded like one in that interview. With the exception that she didn't seem to be hoping for world peace. Her views on war are scary and her understanding of foreign policy is appalling.

Please cite your data for this. You hear this, but nobody ever shows real data.

I just googled: "the gap between the rich and poor has widened" and took 1-3, 5, 6 on the first page. I think a pretty good case can be made for its occurrence but I don't know if it is a permanent condition. If the generations that follow the current retiring generation aren't educated at a higher level and rate, then things might not improve. There really is no solution for a lazy society except to be swallowed by more "hungry" societies. A case could be made for that occurring as we speak. What country is our primary lender? *ding* *ding* *ding* I hope you like fried rice for Thanksgiving!!!111

A remark by Greenspan symbolizes concern that wealth disparities may destabilize the economy.

I'm so suprised you had to google it. You sounded like you had the raw data in front of you.

Actually, I would like some hard, raw data. It looks like some are taking the difference between the "max" and "min" and saying this bad, bad bad. Maybe. Or Maybe not. But it is a comparison that doesn't really provide much information on the how incomes as a whole are shifting.

I would like to see a histogram of the earnings before and after.

Also, I would like to know how they are handling the huge influx illegal immigrants in any calculation.

My final question is what do you propose to fix this income gap? Double, triple minimum wage? Government payments? Government salary tables defining earnings?

So what if the gap was widened?

Wealth is a pie that is expanding; it isn't static.

If the folks on the lower end are moving up, which they are, then why do we care about the gap, unless you want to have even more wealth redistribution than we have now.

And this "fact" the left keeps giving out how household income is dropping is bogus. The size of our households is dropping b/c people are marrying later. Thus when the size of a household goes from 1.9 people to 1.3 people, the income drops, of course!

As I said, this gap may be temporary due to the continued exportation of jobs of which can be completed overseas at much less cost. Many of those that are having their jobs exported (especially in manufacturing) are older. Those that are younger and are in positions that can be duplicated overseas for much less cost should be getting the signal and reeducating/training themselves. The middle-class and lower-class must realize that the days of "getting an honest job" and receiving an "honest wage" because you are an American are over. If you want to receive good pay you have to be competitive with the rest of the world. To be competitive with the rest of the world you need to have skills that others don't have or are not easily duplicated.

But all you gave was links to rhetoric, stories with people who have agenda's and opinions. Where is the underlying data?

Why is the difference between the Max versus Mininim important?

How are they dealing with illegal immigrants in these numbers?

How are the other quartiles doing relative to each other?
