    I may have phrased it wrong.

    Having a National Guard does not remove the right of the individual to own a gun.

        First RS I agree with you - I think firearm ownership is a right (with the obvious exceptions such as criminals, lunatics, and the like). I was just making the point that even if you buy into the milita argument as a requirement for guns - well we still have state militias so we still need guns.
