  • Vaccine Does NOT Cause Autism

This study has finally come out to debunk the crazy fear some parents have had in the MMR vaccine. Cases of the measels has increased as some parents have refused to get their children vaccinated based of of rumors from a very small research group a while back. Some involved in that group of British doctors were involved in this latest study that shows absolutely no connection.

I doubt this eases the fears of some parents as some people always want to believe the worst despite what everything else says and points to

I never heard that it was the MMR shot, but the mercury that is put into some of the vaccines given to kids. My pediatrician uses all the mercury free vaccines that they can. But not all do.

The mercury in all vaccines have been linked to Autism for some time now. I don't know why one single vaccine was singled out of them as the cause.

I am not sure what your point is here. The fact remains that Autism is still occurring and the cause is unknown as to why toddlers that appear to be developing normally suddenly develop autism. Surely you are not suggesting that because the studies have shown that MMR vaccines are not causal that there is no need to worry as to what the cause really is. In an interview recently on TV a former surgeon general suggested that for most toddlers there is no causal link for vaccines and Autism but studies need to be conducted to determine if there is a genetic predisposition to being affected by vaccines or other outside causes and Autism.

I for one believe that much more study is needed.

"Experts disagree about the importance of environmental influences. But there is a consensus that autism probably has more than one cause, its symptoms the common end point of different biological pathways."

My point is that too many people have pointed to MMR as being a cause and many parents have stopped allowing their kids to get MMR shots. This hysteria was based off of little or nothing but panic took over and more measels cases have been reported because of this. I've talked to people who were convinced that MMR was a cause.

I've never once said or hinted that autism shouldn't be researched so we can find out how to cure/stop it or whatever. But baseless claims of this shot playing a part has led to more measels outbreaks and threatens more kids because of it. I'm hoping this study will encourage more to go ahead and get/allow the shots to protect their kids.
