  • Chiefs- The season is finally here

We got the pats first, hey nobody expects us to win or even keep it close. I dont think we will win, but hey its every given sunday. Anything can happen in the NFL. I think alot of people are gonna be surprised at the final score, i think it will be closer than every thinks. Heres to the 2008 Season. Go Chiefs!

The Chiefs season approaching is not something I would be too excited for.

I'm stoked about the season. I don't expect a lot but with all the young talent it should be exciting. I agree that the score will be closer than most expect. A lot will depend on how long the offense can keep the ball and allow the D to rest.

Newshock you are evidently a great loyal fan for a very poor organization...(so please don't take this in the wrong way). IMO fans like yourself are holding this organization back by giving the ownership what they want - blind loyalty for a poor product. I'm beginning to get the feeling that ownership is not interested in winning but rather just filling Arrowhead. If King Carl were gone I might feel differently.

For now I choose not to support this failed organization.

Carls contract ends next year I believe and he will be gone. He's done a lot of good for the organization despite taking the blame for everything from fans. I do think he could have done better but he could have done a lot worse as well. Clark Hunt will be moving on when Carls contract expires and has already taken some of his powers away from him.

I disagree with you, because this offseason i think they are finally doing it right. If they were just trying to fill the seats this season, then we would have signed every top flight Free agent and we might have been between 8-8 to 10-6 and lose again in the 1st round of the playoffs. We are finally rebuilding now, which should have been done years ago when Marty left. Right now, we arent trying to build a medicro team that gets to the playoffs every once in while, we are trying to build a dynasty, and that is something that dont happen over night, it takes a couple years. My belief is yes alot chiefs fans are fustrated, but with the chiefs building through the draft, chiefs fan will be very happy we went this route in the long run.

what i have heard is, Carl is mainly in charge of the business management side of the chiefs , he almost has no power over player personnel.

One of the things that frustrates me the most is the smoke and mirrors put on by the Chiefs brass. A few examples:

Just the other day King Carl makes some absurd statement at a fan banquet event something along the lines “If the fans could just see what we see…”

Also Brodie Croyle is a flat out joke. He is neither the future nor the answer for this club. My only guess is the entire organization knows this and is hopeful that in the event they wind up with another top 5 pick they can rectify decades upon decades of failure in developing a young QB.

You can choose to disagree with theses statements but this is exactly what pisses me off as a disgruntled fan.

loyally following a team through their sucky years isnt necessarily a bad thing.

It worked out for most of us shocker fans that stuck around through the late 80's into the 90's

One day organizations like the Chiefs and the Royals will be on the winning side of the equation. They may even win a championship. And when that day comes there will be a message board for all to complain about the people that werent there or didnt stick out during the 2008 season with young brodie handling the balls.

                      Sincerley,
a fan that hates king carl but cant face the idea of not actually following a team.

Nothing wrong with following your team through the down years. However, until they shape up, don't buy their tickets/clothing/souvenirs. Hit 'em where it hurts - in the bank account.

I did that with the Royals near the end of the Baird era, but was not any less of a fan.

I think the brass is setting the Chiefs up to fail on offense again this year to gain a chance at a Top 3 draft pick....and there is this kid at Florida....
