The Vogue cover and other photo-ops are part of the reason why some of her native Alaskans have a problem with her. I found this in the comments section following an article in the Anchorage Daily News. This was just one example and the one that was well-written and not so antagonistic..

The governor is an enigma.

The governor is an enigma. Just when we think she's on a straight and narrow course, and, she seems to respect Alaskans, she's off to do another photo op, or national news show. There doesn't seem to be a manual about how a governor should behave while in office. Maybe we need one. Sure, she wants to be vice president and on the cover of major magazines, but, she seems too desperate for attention. She has forgotten that people deserve respect and honesty. Her recent decisions do not indicate an intelligent thought process. We need to see mature behavior and a willingness to put her feet to the grindstone and work hard for Alaska.
When politicians get caught up in how important they are to the world, they forget that we all walk on the same grass. I'm really hating that she created this situation, but, she did and blaming anyone else for it is foolish. Nor should we go about changing our laws because of it.
She has done so well in so many ways. She needs to start over and prove that she can be a strong leader and capable person. Working in-state is a good start and keeping out of the national spotlight is better.

I think it's very interesting that the date was July 29, 2008, and yet there is the notion that even then, someone believed that she wanted to be VP. Hmmm.

You must not have looked to deep as this is a bs image for the cover. As for the quote from the paper I'm not sure what to say exactly but it seems that the fact you keyed on it may say more about you or it than the issue and this persons perspective presented. I dunno...

I am baffled, really, that you have a problem with the comment I chose to post. I didn't choose it lightly. A lot of thought went into it. I read hundreds of comments, made by citizens of Alaska, constituents of Palin, people who should know her better than you or I. I chose one that I found represents a common concern (based on recurring complaints on various threads) among the citizens in her state. I posted the one that I felt most expressed, in a heartfelt manner (not all-accusatory, not all-condemning) the same sentiment. Believe me, there are a lot more from people who aren't so kind. You wouldn't believe the comments from some parents of Sarah's children's classmates. And this was before she was chosen VP. Imagine what they're saying now. I'm trying to be fair. Are you? I'm digging as deep as I know how...are you? I want to know what kind of gum they chew. Yes, it's come to that, sadly.

I believe he's saying it a photoshop job, a fake, not true. In laymans terms she was in that issue of vogue but never appeared on the cover. Otherwords you have been had.

It's good that these rumors, whether true or false, come out now instead of a month before the election. Also, since the Republican Convention hasn't happened yet, McCain could still pick someone else as VP. But that's not likely to happen.
