  • Doctors getting forced out?

Pro-life Docs facing "ethics" changes that could force them out of the baby business. This is just wrong. I don't care what your beliefs are here, you can't see this as a good thing. If a mother to be wants a doctor that will perform or recommend someone to do an abortion find that doctor. Don't make a doctor go against everything he/she believes in or face losing his/her ability to practice.

This is a sticky wicket. I guess I don't understand why a doctor can't just hand a patient a phonebook and send her on her way if she's looking for a doctor to perform an abortion. This reminded me of this story about pharmacies/pharmacists that refuse to sell the morning after pill on the same grounds.

I don't know what the alternatives are as long as this product is legal and in stock, other than to always have a pharmacist available who doesn't have a problem with it.

It can't be that hard to find a doc that'll do it or tell you where to go. Same with the pharmacy thing. One pharmacy may not, but all you have to do is call another one to find out if they do sell it. I can't imagine either one would be that difficult to accomplish.

Exactly. In this day and age, when information is at our fingertips via the Internet, there's little excuse for not being informed on services offered. I don't see any reason to force people to go against their convictions just because a consumer doesn't want to do the research.
