Great stuff. Make sure to watch the video

Gore's Hypocrisy Exposed in New Video: His Entourage's Lincoln Town Car Outside Global Warming Speech Idles w/ AC Cranking for 20 Minutes!

We're back from Al Gore's big global warming speech, and boy did we have a great time! We had a dedicated band of taxpayer advocates out in force, pointing out the high economic cost of global warming alarmism - starting with $8 a gallon gasoline.

Of course, we saw plenty of hypocrisy -- especially the fact that Gore didn't ride his bike or take public transportation to the event. He didn't even take his Prius! Instead, he brought a fleet of two Lincoln Town Cars and a Chevy Suburban SUV! Even worse, the driver of the Town Car that eventually whisked away Gore's wife and daughter left the engine idling and the AC cranking for 20 minutes before they finally left!

Check it out in our video from the scene:

Which is sad, because we could be making rational, reasonable efforts to make the environment better.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said he supported Gore's challenge, and said he would fast-track investments in renewable energy like solar, wind and biofuels if elected. I will ask the same question I had proposed in the global warming thread.

If man is causing global warming, who caused it before there was man? This is not the first time the earth has gone through these changes afterall.

Yes, but it has not gone through a warming trend this much this rapidly before.

This thread cracks me up. Gore runs his cars during a speech, two or three people take cabs to see him talk (that's all it shows, after all), therefore global warming is a myth.

              That's like saying 1 + 2 = banana.

Most of the Global Warming talk I've seen has been quite a stretch. I've yet to see anything overwhelming to convince me. The other side has just as much evidence and science. And considering what a hypocrite Gore has been on this whole thing I think shows he doens't fully believe either but wants to make money off of all the hysteria they're causing.

I'd like to see some science--beyond that which was sponsored by big oil--which adequately disproves the theory of global warming to at least half the degree to which it is proven.

January 2008 capped a 12 month period of global temperature drops on all of the major well respected indicators.

You could say the same thing about that sponsored by the wind/solar group and those set to make tons of money off of it...

I haven't checked on every scientist that says man has little to any impact on it but here's something from the US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

Here's something at the Petition Project. The authors are from the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine. They have over 31000 American scientists and 9000 PhDs.

But mother nature has opinions of her own. NASA now begrudgingly confirms that the hottest year on record in the continental 48 was not 1998, as previously believed, but 1934, and that six of the 10 hottest years since 1880 antedate 1954. Data from 3,000 scientific robots in the world's oceans show there has been slight cooling in the past five years, never mind that "80% to 90% of global warming involves heating up ocean waters," according to a report by NPR's Richard Harris.

The Arctic ice cap may be thinning, but the extent of Antarctic sea ice has been expanding for years. At least as of February, last winter was the Northern Hemisphere's coldest in decades. In May, German climate modelers reported in the journal Nature that global warming is due for a decade-long vacation. But be not not-afraid, added the modelers: The inexorable march to apocalypse resumes in 2020.

This is not the first time Gore has been "caught" failing to practice what he preaches. You can't blame people for being skeptical. Notably, the "success" of Gore's ONE year plan to "fix the carbon footprint" of his own home, doesn't exactly inspire confidence in his TEN year plan for the rest of the United States.

One of the main problems I have with Gore is his propensity to exaggerate (as we all know this tendency is not exclusive to the issue of climate change) both the nature and extent of this problem. I have long had a suspicion that this global warming crusade Al Gore has been on for decades is more about his own self-aggrandizement than anything else.

Here is more food for thought from the American Physical Society – I do not think the scientific consensus everyone has been told exists is real….

Just curious as to your response that the hottest year on record was not 1998, but 1934, and that six of the 10 hottest years since 1880 were before 1954. This is global warning.

And btw, the folks in the video calling out Gore didn't deny global warming, they were pointing out his inconsistency and the fact the the so-called soluations will have some significant economic consequences.

                              APS Position Remains Unchanged
The American Physical Society reaffirms the following position on climate change, adopted by its governing body, the APS Council, on November 18, 2007:
"Emissions of greenhouse gases from human activities are changing the atmosphere in ways that affect the Earth's climate."
An article at odds with this statement recently appeared in an online newsletter of the APS Forum on Physics and Society, one of 39 units of APS. The header of this newsletter carries the statement that "Opinions expressed are those of the authors alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of the APS or of the Forum." This newsletter is not a journal of the APS and it is not peer reviewed.

I might also add in the interest of disclosure: Without outing his identity — At least one poster here is a former oil company flak who is now paid to attack industry regulation of any kind wrapped in the flag of "prosperity."

That, I believe, is called "having an axe to grind."

Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'
