Anyone catch the 10-part PBS documentary? I’m about half way through and it’s one of the best documentaries I’ve watched in awhile. It’s given me plenty of flash backs to my years in the service, both good and bad. Every teenager who is contemplating signing up should watch it. From my recollection it’s a pretty good view on life in the military.

I second your opinion but I have never served in the military (although I turned down an appointment to West Point and have often wondered about the road not taken). I have watched most of the episodes but missed the first few (forgot to set the DVR). Do you know if PBS is planning on running them again?

You can rent them from netflix if you have a netflix account. If you dont... get one because its way better than blockbuster or hollywood. You can find just about anything at netflix from blockbusters to documentaries to concerts and self help etc... If they dont have it you can shoot them an email and they will try to find it for ya.

Looks like you can watch full episodes on-line:

"If you're going to do it, you're going to do it right," athletic director Jim Schaus said. "If we're going to put 'Wichita State' across our chest, then every team is going to matter."

A little side note: I just finished watching the last of 10 episodes, which involves the “tiger” cruise where family members can board the carrier in Hawaii and cruise the final leg to San Diego. Just as they’re pulling out of Honolulu, one of the sailors is pointing out Diamondhead to his son, who clear as day is donning a WSU ball cap. If anyone wants to watch it online the scene occurs within the first 2-3 minutes of the last episode.

            Just checked it out.

No doubt that's the WSU AD logo on the back of that hat.

On an on-topic note, I watched the full series a couple of weeks ago on PBS, and it was certainly interesting to see the non-glamorous inner workings of a US carrier.
