Any word on the nature of the gift? New business school? Research Development?
Spoiler Alert: Bruce Willis was dead the whole time!

A large donation to restart football?? I wish. Anyway, this is great news for the university. Looking forward to hearing about it.

My guess would be R.D. Hubbard. He's donated large sums to WSU in the past and just recently dropped a large sum of cash on BCCC...$1.5 million I believe. He's filthy rich and is involved in several ventures in Kansas…including the Wichita area. He's from Smith Center, lived in Wichita for a long time, but never went to WSU...lives in Palm Desert, CA now.

Moose, please define "filthy rich" for me... I want to see if I meet your criterion.

Not sure what's he's worth now...in 1990 he had over 100 million. He has Casinos, Horse Racing tracks, Hotels, and Golf Courses all over the place. His house is in the greater than 20 million range in Palm Desert.

Yes, the building was named for R. Dee Hubbard in recognition for his contributions to the university.

Remember, this is just a guess, I really have no idea...

Has there not been any word? Being stuck at work there's only so much I can look into but noticed the Eagle hasn't had an update.

                      The announcement isn't until Monday.

Yeah, it got me at first, too.

Maybe I should have read it more closely. The blurb made it sound like it was today. I guess I can relax now :D

Allright!!! We're gaining on Harvard, they have a 35 billion dollar endowment.

$8.5M going mostly to the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders department, as well as the WSU Regional Institute on Aging.

This should make WSU's endowment somewhere just south of $200M in total.

Thank you Mrs. Evelyn Cassat of Abilene! :good:

Sorry, couldn't resist. Large sums of money to bolster quality academics is a good thing. I hope that department qualifies.
