A month or two ago there was talk of a Tulsa amusement company buying the old Wild West World. Has anyone heard if that has progressed?

It's a carnival company so whatever they produce likely isn't going to be big.
Reason why WWW failed? Wasn't big enough and really offered very little. If you want people in this city to come out of the houses it better be something special.
My prediction? They start it back up for a year and it flops and we never hear from the ghost town again.

Wow. A $30 million park that they could re-open for $6 million. Sounds like a recipe for at least short-term success.
There was a lot of criticism here of the western theme. Should the sale go through, in what direction do you think the new proprieters should go?
Tap into the aviation/aerospace reputation of Wichita/Hutchinson? Naming and decorating the rides would be a cinch.
Go with something generic, ala Worlds of Fun?

I said it when WWW opened, it won't be the success it could be without at least one big time coaster with more to come. With that you could draw in others from outside the area. People will travel for one coaster. And if you can offer a few it's even better. Wichita NEEDS someone to step up and offer that. That's where the money is.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan
RIP Guy Always A Shocker
Carpenter Place - A blessing to many young girls/women
ICT S.O.S - Great local cause fighting against human trafficking
Wartick Insurance Agency - Saved me money with more coverage.
Save Shocker Sports - A rallying cry

The only thing that would make it in Wichita is something like Frontier City in Oklahoma. I stick by my belief that it takes something special to make it in a place with these types of people that live here.

If they named it the 'World of Oz' or 'Emerald City', people would click their heels 3 times and come...
I went through the MGM in Vegas when they had it 'Oz themed' and it was quite entertaining.
People associate Dorothy and Toto with Kansas, and it is well known.
An 'Oz theme' or 'Aviation theme' would be best, but I think the Oz theme would draw more people with kids.
