  • Great Week Ahead

I woke up this morning feeling excited about the next week. Our SHOX will have a new conference home. A home that will, although emotionally end a 72 year run in the MVC, begin a new and exciting journey with some old acquaintances as well as new friends. I think we are all in agreement this is what is best for continuing our rise in strengthening what is already a national brand in athletics. I join my SN brothers and sisters in this thrilling time.

I am also excited about my journey to the Masters this coming week. I have been watching the Drive, Chip and Putt finals event on the Golf Channel this morning excited for all the young junior golfers who get to take in Magnolia Lane and the hallowed grounds of Augusta National. Although I got to attend the Masters for the first time last year, I will return once again with my son-in-law to be apart of this great golf spectacle.

A great week ahead and I am so excited and proud to be a Shocker. Go SHOX!!!

You're not one of those assholes that yell "get in the hole" when a guy is teeing off on a par 5 are you?
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

He is my favorite, so we will be following him. I might even yell "get in the hole" when he tees off on par-5's! :-)

I will get there on Wednesday. Plan on bringing rain gear out the wazoo, which will ward off all weather situations.

On a golf theme, watching the first LPGA major. After her 12th hole today officials informed Lexi a Thompson, who was leading by 2 strokes, that a viewer called in earlier today and noticed through tv footage that YESTERDAY she placed her ball on the putting green a fraction of an inch from its original position. By rules she was assessed 2 shots for hitting a shot from an improper place and another 2 shots for signing an incorrect scorecard, for a total of a 4 shot penalty. Lexi went from 2 up to 2 back. She promptly birdied the next 2 holes to tie for the lead and she is currently 1 back with a couple of holes to play. Go Lexi!!!

Fortunately or unfortunately, the outlooks are not related.

In a twist of fate after an unprecedented golf ruling where Lexi Thompson was penalized 4 shots for something that occurred yesterday, she has a 12-footer for eagle on the 18th to win the first major of the year on the LPGA.

Lexi's bid for eagle stops near the lip...ugh. Playoff with So-Yeon Ryu.

Lexi is viably upset since the penalty situation. How she has the composure is beyond me. She is getting so much support from the gallery and from twitter. The LPGA is getting roasted on twitter.
