        Sad and sobering news indeed.

Same day, separate sole death accidents of #MLB players @YordanoVentura & Andy Marte, similar circumstance; both said to be under influence.

Senseless alcohol related deaths. Thank God no one else was harmed in the accidents. Thoughts and prayers to their loved ones.

              RIP Yordano
He will be remembered as a legend in KC.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.

His performance in Game 6 of the 2014 World Series won't be forgotten in Kansas City anytime soon.

Oscar Tavares, Jose, Yordano, too many latin American stars gone to soon. So sad.

Its now being reported that no sign of alcohol was found at the crash.

Ventura was not wearing his seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. One more life lost due to a failure to follow a very simple safety precaution.
Its a good landing if you can walk away, its a great landing if the plane can be reused the next day.

No signs of alcohol at the scene but alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributing factor. Toxicology results should be available within 3 weeks. Ventura was partying with friends at a festival prior to the accident. So at this point it is unclear if alcohol was a factor.

Speed may have been a factor and possibly foggy conditions. The road does go through a mountainous area and the limit on that stretch of road was reported as only 15 mph. So it would not even require a high rate of speed to be a problem.

What is clear is Yordano was called from this earth well before he even reached his prime. A sad situation indeed as a result of a very unfortunate accident.

There are also unconfirmed reports (tweeted out by Pedro Martinez) that he was found alive by robbers, who left him to die.
