  • 2016 Olympics

Man, NBC butchered the heck out of the opening ceremony with a crap ton of commercials at really awkward moments. It became unwatchable and I flipped it off. Not good, NBC.

Was Jim Nance a part of the broadcast?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

I'm not a big commercial fan either so I recorded it and started watching it about an hour in. Fast-forwarded through them. Problem solved.

You do realize they have to get a return of their $1.23 billion investment into these Olympics, right? Honestly, I thought the commercials were pretty spaced out so far, especially during the parade of nations.

Commercials at awkward moments? Hmm, I must've missed that. Can you explain?

      ... No really, deuces.

No, he was interviewing David Feherty, so that probably wouldn't have gone so well. Pretty sure Feherty isn't a liberal.

Boy, Dan Patrick is struggling...there are so many diseases that attack you as you age. He sure looks like he's suffering from Parkinson's. I hope I'm wrong.

Is it that difficult during a swimming event to show what the event is (100, 200, 400?) and whether it's semis or finals? If you're weren't listening closely you'd have no idea.

And the volume on the commentators was too low...hard to hear.

US volleyball chick's are hotter than the chick's from the Netherlands. US wins 3-2.

Anybody watching the boxing? If I understand correctly, the Wichita kid is fighting this afternoon.

It was actually fine. But the commercial volume is 100x. So if you had adjusted to save your hearing during any of the previous 8000 commercial breaks, you probably couldn't hear. Of course, you could be like me, choosing not to adjust your volume during the commercials. And then you also couldn't hear any more.
