  • Monty Williams

You probably heard about the OKC Thunder assistant coach that lost his wife recently.

You may not have known what an amazing individual he is.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

I'll go to sleep tonight a little more humble, ok a lot more humble, secure in the knowledge that I'll never be half the man he is today.

May God bless Monty Williams and his family and the Donaldson family.

Here's a polite suggestion. Maybe you can learn something from him and successfully apply it in your personal life. Sure beats taunting someone by saying you screwed their dead mother.

Here is a polite suggestion, now is probably not the time for you to take a shot like that on the heals of something as beautiful as Monty's elegant and loving eulogy for his wife. God is love, not spiteful as you have just shown.

I thought what he did was bad form, but evidently you excuse him.

The problem is in the piousness of how he framed the message.

I have very little use for people who spend an hour or two in church on Sunday and then use that as an absolution for all the nasty things they do the rest of the week.

Has more to do with his post and less to do with the message in the you tube link. If you can't wrap your arms around that, then you're not a very good engineer.

Wow, personal attacks already, huh? I'm not a religious man, like.. at all.. But if you can't see that your hijacking this thread to attack Doc is incredibly disrespectful to Monty Williams and his family, then I don't know what to tell you.

And FYI, I never excused his attack on you, I thought it was dumb at the time, but it was even dumber that you were letting him troll you and get a reaction out of you. I'll give you that you're good at having terrible opinions and putting words in other people's mouths.

So you're not an equal opportunity troller? ;)

I apologize for my framed piousness, it wasn't intentional.

I ask for nor seek absolution for any of my numerous faults and shortcomings.

All I wanted to do was to bring attention to 2 families in need and what I thought was an amazing eulogy.

Maybe the pettiest thing I've seen on this forum. And that's saying something.

Doc, that's what gets you in trouble. It takes you from merely being a boorish person at times to being a person who appears to be not only boorish but also condescending and arrogant. You can't SIT on the moral high ground when you cant SET a good example.

Having said that, I thought the eulogy was nice, but there are literally hundreds and hundreds of people in the world in need, some probably closer to you and your family than you think, who don't have the platform of being an NBA coach to draw attention to their struggles. Maybe you can find one and perform an act of random kindness.

As an administrator, you should be more concerned with making sure rules get enforced fairly and less concerned with speaking out about the quality of one's posts.

I've made my point, I will not comment further.

I appreciate your concern on me not being able to have an opinion, but I kindly disagree.

If you have any more comments to make to me, please make them in PM. I do not think it looks good for you to censor your comments after you have looked at them and realize that they don't reflect well on your administrator role (or if they didn't perhaps you wouldn't remove them?).
