One thing I've never understood about Omaha after every snow storm the natural born natives have to re-learn how to drive in the snow.
And since the snow has come it officially means the beginning of pothole season.
I've never noticed that. Omahan's generally do pretty well on the first snow, but this morning was terrible. It might be that we were expecting flurries to two inches and got six to 10 inches, or maybe it was Christmas Eve and people were distracted, but **** the bed, it was bad! If you really want to see bad driving on yhe first snowfall, head 90 miles north to Sioux City. Sioux City has the worst drivers in the country; throw snow in the mix and you have a goat ranch! Des Moines is worse than Omaha, and surprisingly, so is Denver.
As for potholes, now we're ****ed. Omaha may very well be the worst pothole city in America, I'm not kidding.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
