  • Chinese stock market crashing

Warning, if you are in an office, turn your sound down. Sorry.

Looks like the Chinese stock exchange is suffering from an adjustment:

The government is intervening, but it does not appear to be working:

Over 1300 companies have had trading in their stocks suspended.

This makes Greece look like small potatoes.

So what is going on with the U.S. Stock market - trading was suspended.

They say it's a "technical glitch". That could include a lot of ground, including as one wag stated, a cyber attack (remote but possible).

It's ok, I'm sure they have insurance.

United Airlines grounded due to computer issue.

NYSE suspend all trading due to computer issue.

          I say it's Skynet.

WSJ website crashed at almost the exact same time trading was suspended. The number of hits probably triggered it.

Well, if they are being hit with a DOS attack, it's certainly not necessary for them to disclose promptly, as anyone attempting to execute a trade will be aware...

Brilliant move by Skynet. Assume the name of AOL, no one will realize it when they say "You've Got Mail" as they destroy the Earth.

So you know how right before a large retailer declares bankruptcy, they have a massive sale on a holiday with inventory at below cost prices just to raise as much cash as possible?

                    4th of July --> Firecrackers --> China

But at $0.49/each those Cracker Barrels sure give you a lot of bang for the buck, amirite MoValley?

Trading resumes on NYSE after nearly 4-hour outage

The New York Stock Exchange suspended trading Wednesday morning at 11:32 am because of a 'technical glitch.' No cyber breach suspected by NYSE or Homeland Security officials.

I got all my digits intact.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

NYSE is back on line and the problem was a change.
An expert says a failed systems upgrade forced the New York Stock Exchange to halt trading on Wednesday

I guess we can rule out MoValley Johns identity as Jason Pierre-Paul.
