Any storms gonna hit tonight? Sorta looks like it's building up south enough that we might get scraped.

Severe Storms spreading further east into Central KS than was forecasted by SPC.

Shoudn't be anything too bad if anything does make it into ICT area.

Buckets and buckets and buckets of rain -- and none of it will scoot just a little to the right and dump on Wichita. That's sooooo Summer of 2013. Get with the program rain.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Tomorrow could be interesting but the moderate area is setting up to be just east of ICT

Will it be moderate? It seems like eastern Texas is where the real action will be, depending on what happens to warm front.

Latest models have shifted the dryline significantly further west putting the Wichita metro area directly in the line of fire. Quality moisture may be an issue as morning convection down south in Oklahoma/Texas could cut the supply off up here. Assuming we get adequate heating and decent moisture, it looks like a decent setup for a few tornadoes. Definitely doesn't scream large tornadoes and/or an outbreak though.

                    • Today's convective outlook probabilities indicate hail as the primary threat. The tornadic stuff is mostly to the south in east Texas and western Arkansas/Louisiana.

                        • Considering they keep pushing the rain back in the hourly forecasts, I'd be surprised if we end up getting a drop in Wichita this weekend, which is too bad, because we could still use more precipitation.

                              • 20 some odd years ago I had an RV parked on some acreage over by Beaumont that belonged to my father in law. We were coming back from Eureka and got caught in a similar hail storm. They were about the size of those shown. Luckily I found an abandoned barn that I could drive into before the big stuff actually hit. The barn roof took a beating.
