If it's not a scam, then the guy probably deserved it, since he wasn't able to determine that something was in his coffee, as some mentioned in the Comments section.

For instance,

I'm calling BS, you telling me that cup wouldn't feel a little too heavy with a coffee logged rodent at the bottom? Plus the cups are stored bottoms up, so what the mouse was in the pot with the coffee and the person pouring didn't notice it splash into the cup...or every time he takes a sip the mouse sliding up and down? Come on. Dude is looking for a pay day.
