I predict the Royals record to be 70-92. Anyone else care to predict?

    77-85

Probably the blue-tinted glasses I'm wearing, but what the heck.

Dayton Moore knows what he's doing but it going to take a little longer. If KC moved to the NL central in what, 96 when they were offered I'd think of them as a darkhorse for that divison, as it is ( it is what it is ) I'll say 79-83.
              Butler 298/364/471
              Gordon 287/351/439

                  Just curious..

How many of your 'favorite' teams in all sports have/had winning records this season or past season?

                  KC in 08: 69-93
                  Deuces Valley.
                  ... No really, deuces.

                      75-87

                      Based on the following:

                      Pitching
Meche - Not quite as good as last year, but close. More wins with 12.
Greinke - Another step in the positive direction. 17 wins.
Bannister - See Meche. 12 wins.
Tomko, Maroth, other 4/5 guys - Much better than last year. 18 wins from these two positions.

Bullpen - Solid, but not quite as good as last season. Soria will save 30+ games.

Team ERA stays roughly the same at 4.48.

                      Hitting
                      Guillen > Brown
DeJesus, Teahen slightly better than '07
Butler, Gordon take the next step
Shealy returns to close to '06 form.
Grudz solid, but slight decrease from '07.
TPJ has similar season as '07
                      Buck, Olivo '08 > Buck, LaRue '07

Team BA improves from .261 to .269.
Team OBP improves from .322 to .332.
Team HRs improve from 102 to 135.
Team RBIs improve from 660 to 725.

At some point we'll probably lose two starters for portions of the season. Hopefully, there will never be less than three original starters in the rotation.

A couple of position players will miss extended periods (60-day DL). Several more will see the 15-day DL. Basically, the same things all teams deal with.

Hopefully, with the exception of Detroit, the other teams in the AL Central will take steps backward.

If things go particularly well, I could see 80 wins. If more players, particularly starting pitchers don't perform as well, or we have major injuries, 68 wins wouldn't surprise me.

If you're talking to me, I'm just comparing a lot of newshock's favorite teams to how successful they've been during the past year: Royals: forgot their record, bad, Chiefs: 3-13?, bad, Shockers: 10-17, bad. Can I assume his favorite NBA team is the Timberwolves?

                            72-90

Here`s my take on the Royals:
Dayton Moore is slightly improving the amount of the losses since he came to KC. The real question for any Royals fan should be: How much longer until we have a team that can make post season & win?

I`ve been to 3 Royals games in my life so I`m really not a so called die hard fan of the team. I watch the games and listen on radio. 3 years ago when the Royals left Wichita radio, I started following the Cardinals & listening to them online. Cardinals had 100 win seasons back then but they paid for developed players which got them those good seasons. Watching and listening to the Cardinals back in 2004 actually drew me back into being a baseball fan.

As a Royals fan out there, winning can cure all ills but at what cost and how long will it take???

If they were in the AL West, 87-75
Since they are in the central, 75-87
