Wichita State University's Elliott School of Communication confirmed Wednesday Brown died after a long illness. He was a retired ESC instructor, who began teaching in 1970.
Brown had 35-plus years of professional experience, according to his bio. Almost 21 of them were at The Wichita Eagle, and at KAKE-TV in the 1980s.
