@TxShox:, and anyone else on this fine board that likes great beer, if you ever have the chance to be in Hays, KS, check out Gella's Diner/Lb Brewing for some of the finest brewed beer in Kansas or anywhere for that matter. They do not bottle.

Gerald Wyman opened his establishment in 2005 and immediately entered a few of his brews at The Great American Beer Festival and won a Silver Medal for his Oatmeal Stout. He has now accumulated 9 medals (5 Gold) at the GABF, one at the World World Beer Cup, and in 2013, the brewery and Gerald were named by the GABF as the Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year.

Thanks for the link. I stopped by this brewery Sunday, on my way to Wichita for Mothers day. Got to take a quick tour of the facility and sample 4 of their products. All 4 were really good. They were out of a couple of brews that I wanted but I was able to get a growler of Irish Red to go. Very tasty. They told me they have expansion in the works so the chances of being sold out will be reduced. TxShox, have you tried any of the Austin Beer Works offerings? I'm pretty fond of the Pearl Snap and Fire Eagle. I always try to bring back a couple of cases whenever I go down to visit my daughter.

I have to second the recommendation for Gella's Diner/Lb Brewing in Hays. It is a great combination of excellent beer and really tasty food. I wish they would expand to Wichita. Pretty sure they do not bottle although I always try to bring a couple growlers back to Wichita. The Oatmeal Stout is great and I also like the Amber. I'm not much of a hops fan so I can't really speak to their IPA.

TxShox, have you tried any of the Austin Beer Works offerings? I'm pretty fond of the Pearl Snap and Fire Eagle. I always try to bring back a couple of cases whenever I go down to visit my daughter.

I have tried the Fire Eagle and the Peacemaker from Austin Beerworks, but not the Pearl-Snap yet. For Texas Pilsners, I'm a big fan of Hans' Pils from Real Ale Brewing out of Blanco, TX, but I do have Pearl Snap on my list to try this summer.

Jester King is another very popular brewery in Austin that does farmhouse style ales. They recently switched to using wild strains of yeast for all their beers. One of their beers that I really enjoyed is Noble King, but I haven't had it since they switched the yeast.

I tend to not frequent stuff associated with UT, so until now, I had never heard of shaggybevo.com. There are a bunch of beer nerds in the Houston area that I follow on twitter, which is how I've found a lot of the beers I've tried.

It's a good site for a lot more than UT sports. I stay away from the football forum but the volume of posters makes the basketball and baseball forums pretty lively during the season. The music forum and travel/food forum are outstanding. I don't troll so they have treated me pretty well. Shocker basketball gets a lot of love there but Shocker baseball not so much. They covet HCGM but it is comical how poorly they support MBB.
