Have a 102.5 fever. Kid and wife are over 101. Muscles feel like flat tires pulled out of an oven. Throat torn up from coughing and chest feels like a golf ball is lodged inside. What the heck?!

Tell ya guys what worked for me in case anybody else gets this nasty virus:
Make sure you take the full dose of BOTH ibuprofin AND Tylenol, but offset them every 3 hours. So at midnight take ibuprofin, at 3:00am take Tylenol, at 6:00am take ibuprofin, and so on. After a few cycles that brought my fever down from 102.5 to about 101.3ish ... it stayed that way for several cycles and then eventually went down to 100 and then 99.
I was trying every 4 hours and it just wasn't working. That extra hour let the fever ramp right back up and I got miserable and had to start all over each time. By dropping it to 3 hours it would keep the fever from coming back up.
I'm still snotty as all get out, but at least the fever and associated chills, sweats, muscle pain and head aches (other than sinus pressure) is gone.
Coughing up the chunks this morning has alleviated my chest congestion and I am not really coughing anymore, so my throat doesn't hurt beyond just being irritated.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Just be careful you aren't getting extra acetaminophen from other OTC drugs.
