I'm just about to watch the USA vs Russia in hockey this morning.

Mike "Doc" Emerick (no relation) just mentioned that USA Goaltender Ryan Miller is the oldest player on the US team and the ONLY team USA member that was even alive for the Miracle on Ice.

Ouchtown, population me.



Also, the Russian Head Coach Zinetula Bilyaletdinov was a key defenseman on the 1980 team.

My son is the same age now, that I was when the United States upset the USSR back in 1980. At least we didn't have this to worry about...

Women's team was minutes from the Gold, only to have it snatched away by a couple late goals, bad calls, and a shot off the post.. Heartbreaking to say the least..
