  • Scientists Find 800,000-Year-Old Footprints in UK

The footprints are the most ancient found outside Africa, and the earliest evidence of human life in northern Europe.

British scientists have discovered human footprints in England that are at least 800,000 years old — the most ancient found outside Africa, and the earliest evidence of human life in northern Europe.

A team from the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the University of London uncovered imprints from up to five individuals in ancient estuary mud at Happisburgh on the country's eastern coast.

British Museum archaeologist Nick Ashton said the find — announced Friday and published in the journal PLOS ONE — was "a tangible link to our earliest human relatives."

Preserved in layers of silt and sand for millennia before being exposed by the tide last year, the prints give a vivid glimpse of some of our most ancient ancestors. They are from a group, including at least two children and one adult male. They could be a family foraging on the banks of a river scientists think may be the ancient Thames, beside grasslands where bison, mammoth, hippos and rhinoceros roamed.

I have no problem with there being humanoid life or any kind of life before Adam and Eve were created around 6,000 years ago. The difference is that these humanoids weren't created in God's image.

There were a lot of things happening on the Earth before Adam and Eve. Scientist can look at ice core samples in the Antarctica and see that there were cycles of hot and cold climates. There must have be massive climate changes as it looks like the last thing to occur before the creation of Adam and Eve, was a flood that covered the entire Earth, maybe like Noah's flood.

This is made evident in Genesis 1:2,6-7,9-10. Water covering the Earth is the theme of these verses.
2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas.

And to just throw this out there. I take Genesis 1 to include the original creation of the Universe which occurred billions of years ago and then 6,000 years ago the renewing of the Earth, which included the creation of Adam and Eve. The renewing of the Earth in those six days was to support life again on the Earth, this time to include Adam and Eve.

For the renewing of the Earth, see Psalm 104, 30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the earth.
