  • Best Rock songs about . . . Rock N Roll

I know I am missing some obvious ones, but here's a list in no particular order.

    Juke Box Hero - Foreigner
    Shooting Star - Bad Company
Rock N Roll Fantasy - Bad Company
Johnny B Good - Chuck Berry
    Sgt Peppers - Beatles
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
Rock N Roll - Led Zeppelin (kind of about rock)
    Crocodile Rock - Elton John

I thought of this topic today when I heard "Shooting Star", and was a bit surprised I couldn't come up with more songs written about rock and roll.

Of this group, I think "Juke Box Hero" is the best.

What do you ladies and gents think?

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll--AC/DC (also a pretty legitimate cover by Lucinda Williams)
    Shocker Nation, NYC

Does "I Love Rock & Roll" by Joan Jett count? I've always like that song. Even though I liked Jefferson Airplane more than Starship, they had "We Built This City".

American Pie by Don McLean is borderline. References are to both rock n roll and social events.
"Cotton scared me - I left him alone." - B4MSU (Bear Nation poster) in reference to heckling players

Wow - I missed a ton of obvious and good songs. I think my favorites would be Billy Joel's, "Its Still Rock and Roll" or AC/DC's "Its a long way to the top."

Any rock song with a sax solo has to be good.

                              Well, almost any.
