This is a hell of a read and I'm proud to see the University take steps in such a direction. The past few years I've paid a lot more attention to this and followed and supported a couple of local organizations that work towards the same goal in Carpenter Place and ICT S.O.S. I hope and pray that this center does as much good as it's capable of.

Interesting article. I wonder if this is part of Dr Bardo's commitment to work more closely with Wichita and Sedgwick Co. $50,000 seems like a very small investment for something that is so important but I'm glad to see it start up.

I agree that the number seems low, but I think that it'll grow once this thing gets going. There are also a number of Wichita organizations that will work closely with the Center that probably helps keep costs down to some degree. On top of Carpenter Place and ICT S.O.S, there's the Wichtia Children's Home, the Child Advocacy Center, Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center and some others that escape me at the moment. I believe that this center will build upon what all of them are doing and grow. Pretty sure the 50k budget will grow as well and I hope that the Center becomes as big and impactful nationally as they hope. Sounds like they have the right woman in Dr. Countryman-Roswurm in charge.
