iPhone App Design

Looking for help to design an iPhone app that would allow me to store locations on a map then share it as an app with others.

I've never owned an iPhone or smartphone but I'm looking to purchase one and design an app involving maps.

IMO, you would be better off starting with an Android app first, and then porting to iOS as needed (I've written apps for both platforms, and the Android versions are easier/cheaper to get running). Unless you have a lot of programming experience, the variant of Java used by Android apps is easier to learn than the objective-C used by iOS, and Android has better tutorials. Android also has a cheaper up-front cost, since you can develop on any platform, whereas you are pretty much stuck with using Apple products for iOS development. Apple also requires you to pay a yearly developer's license, whereas there is no developer license with Android.
