The Air Force has announced the McConnell AFB will become the primary refueling base for the new tanker fleet. McConnell brings in about 450 million to the local economy and with this announcement it looks like McConnell will be in play for several decades which with all of the consolidation and elimination of bases bodes well for Wichita. This may be an equivalent to going to an armed forces final four and winning it. Go Wichita
