I've never met Tim personally, but I've met quite a number of people who have and had nothing but great things to say about him as well as Carl Young. It's a sad day for Storm-Chasing.

I've heard of people that have essentially stopped chasing within a 1 hour radius of OKC just due to the traffic/locals/chaser convergance.

The rumor I've seen is that Tim was on the NE side of the tornado south of El Reno - possibly on US 81 - and then tornado (which was tracking ESE) took a hard NE turn and he didn't have a chance to escape.

RIP to him, Carl and his son.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

I'm glad the media finally came to their senses to show that Tim was out there to actually study how tornadoes form and act.

Too many chasers are like that Brandon Marshall crew wandering aimlessly on the backroads of America trying to get a perfert film shot to post on Youtube.
