Here is a closer look at the new Experiential Engineering Building. Construction is scheduled to begin in January and it is expected that it will be operational in 2016.

Here are more details on the partnership buildings. Up to 6 partnership buildings are planned, and the first is in the planning stages.

"The first building is expected to house a single tenant. The building will be a multi-story facility and will include 80,000 to 115,000 square feet."

The strangest thing happened with the RSC renovation - the bookstore didn't change in the slightest. I was in there a few weeks ago to check out some WSU gear and I was really surprised to see that essentially every inch of the entire facility had been heavily updated, except for the heart of every campus - the school bookstore. While the renovation overall knocked my socks off, I was sort of left scratching my head on the bookstore thing. What a strange way to save a nominal amount in a huge project.

I noticed when I was on campus this weekend that they have a lot of construction equipment behind chain link fences on the east side of Cessna Stadium. This is kind of where I thought the first parking garage might go, but apparently not. That may have been a construction equipment storage area for Shocker Hall.

Shocker Hall is truly transforming the campus and culture of WSU. I have noticed in recent advertisements by the University that they refer to having a traditional college campus. We are seeing a paradigm shift from commuter school to a traditional college campus.

18% growth in freshmen students through aggressive marketing utilizing such tactics as database marketing and geo targeting. The success of the basketball program also helped. The goal is to grow to 20,000 students in coming years. At this growth trajectory a new Shocker Hall type dorm will be needed sooner than later.

It is really amazing how the knowledge gained from the research that has been done on composites for aviation is now being transferred to the benefit of many people through the innovation of new medical products. The fact that this new product will help injured soldiers is much appreciated.
