I'm all for the storms as long as the tornadoes stay away from Wichita and the surrounding areas. Last years tornado that damaged the Plainview area missed me by about 5 minutes, and the 1999 tornado that took out most of Haysville and South Wichita also missed me by about 5 minutes. 2 scares is enough for me. I'll take the strong rain and hail, but keep the tornadoes away!

I'm hoping for a good weekend chase in the area at some point this year. I have an open invitation from a friend to sit in with her and her crew. I simply can't take off work though to do it.

I mean it's possible just due to the convective nature of the storms, but I'd be really surprised should that happen.

I wasn't home from mid afternoon to this morning and don't know how much rain I got. I do know that where I was got a bunch of snow, rain, ice, and hail. It was a very interesting few hours of the different precipitation types and interesting to see how it progressed the farther I got north.

So now it is only going to have heavy rain east of the turnpike?

Very possible Wichita has not seen the last of snow flakes for the spring. Doubt much will accumulate due to current warm SFC temperatures and marginal near surface temps on Thursday but should see snow flakes.

Vertical Soundings support snow as a mode of precipitation on thursday.
