If Frenchy could get that elephant off of his back he would have caught that fly ball down the line that had about three and a half minutes of hang time... I love the offensive explosion in the 1st, but hate to see it be Pelfrey who's getting lit up.

Anyone surprised that Holland would come in with a three run lead and load the bases, letting the go-ahead run come to the plate?

          Whew.

That's three shaky outings in a row for Holland. Not. Closer. Material.

I'm going to give him a slight pass considering the rain. It was coming down pretty decently in the 9th and that couldn't have done him any favors when it comes to pitching.

Davis is living on the edge. Loaded the bases in each of the first two innings (3 hits, 2 walks, 1 HBP), once with nobody out. 0 runs scored.

Butler solo shot accounts for KC's 1-0 lead.

He's got some good stuff tonight, just not locating really. I think he's going to be a solid guy for us once he gets used to starting again.

considering he was in the bullpen for most of the year and is just now "back" into the role Im willing to give him some slack.

Weather conditions tonight not really conducive for "stellar" pitching conditions. or anything really. Ill take 1-0 though

Downtown Frenchie and some small ball has them up 3-0.

How sweeeeeep it is! And to the Twinkies!

1.5 game lead in the AL central and it's past the first week of the season.

Wade Davis - 7 IP, 5 H, 0 BB, 7 Ks. Very nice outing. Holland strikes out the side for the save in a 1-0 shutout over the hottest team in baseball.

Good to see after last night's craptacular collapse in the 8th. Giving up a dinger to a hot hitter is one thing, but then to give up two more to batters who aren't hitting above the Mendoza line, well, blech. When will the bats come alive?

Herrera seemed to believe he was tipping his pitches, resulting in the three home runs off of him. Yost brought him back in today (presumably to see if they fixed what was wrong) and only gave up a single in 1 IP.

Glad to see he redeemed himself a bit.

Holland had a bad outing or two and today he was nails. Herrera had a couple of nice outings and then last night he lost it. It's great to see the depth of their staff and bullpen. Everyone once in a while has a problem but their depth is great.
