Looks like he'll try to compete for the 4th or 5th spot in the rotation.

Darn it Royal. I tried this about 2 hours ago but I couldn't figure out how to insert a hyperlink.

I gave up after 30 minutes.

WstateU, I thought for sure posting it in the Off-Topic forum would be safe from too much backlash!

WuDrWu, just paste the URL into your post. It will turn into a link when you submit it.

Yeah, I'm not excited about it. I was hoping we'd get Bartolo Colon, which I guess could still happen.

Hopefully, Tomko was signed for peanuts and he's just insurance for the 5th starter spot to give Hochevar a little more time to develop.

I guess Tomko is getting $3mil guaranteed with incentives up to $4.5mil. At least he's versatile.

The latest on Big Fat Bartolo Colon:

The White Sox have reportedly backed off on free agent Bartolo Colon because of his desire for a mulityear deal.
The Cicago Sun-Times believes the Royals are the favorites to sign Colon. The Mets are also believed to have backed off because of the right-hander's demands.

Of course, this was before we signed Brett Tomko.
