The earthquake occurred along a slip fault, so the tsunami threat could be mitigated.

              TSUNAMI MESSAGE NUMBER 3
NWS PACIFIC TSUNAMI WARNING CENTER HONOLULU HI
              829 PM AST SAT FEB 08 2025

COASTAL AREAS OF PUERTO RICO - THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS AND
              THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

...THE TSUNAMI ADVISORY CONTINUES IN EFFECT...

              * NO OBSERVATIONS OF TSUNAMI ACTIVITY ARE AVAILABLE YET.
Cuba threat is 3-10 ft waves, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands is less than a foot.

One of the DART buoy picked up the following

              dart.jpg

They seemed to be leaning toward canceling.

              * THE TSUNAMI FORECAST DOES NOT SHOW A THREAT FOR PUERTO RICO
AND THE VIRGIN ISLANDS. HOWEVER... WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR
SEA LEVEL DATA TO CONFIRM THE FORECAST.
Problem is most of the DART buoy are non-operable in the region, so they are pretty much waiting to see if anybody gets tsunmi waves.

Next update is suppose to occur at 7pm central.

So, in summary, small tsunami waves were generated, but not a DESTRUCTIVE one.

Coverage of this event by me is over.
