This is eye-candy for a potential storm "potentially" moving through on the 24-26....
These images in particular are for 7pm Christmas Day

The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Storm this week is pulling a little further north and east. As wsushox1 is hinting there is another storm coming close to Christmas that looks interesting - whether the Wichita area gets any is still up in the air.

How about I'm dreaming of a healthy holiday for some of our team?

Sorry, Mr. Snow Miser has no control over that, you will have to take that up with Mr. Health Miser (Obama), he now controls health care. But you live in red-state so good luck with that.

We are supposed to effing hammered in Omaha. I'm stoked. Im off through the New Year and I got my big-ass snowblower ready to go!
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Heavy, wet snow. Good thing I married a big-ass snow blower.

last night was pretty nice as it was falling down. Quickly turned to crap though and ice all over the place. I freaking hate it here.

Regrettably it's not looking like this next system is going to effect the eastern 2/3rds of the state too much, though there is time for variation with the track of the mid-latitude cyclone. Right now it is looking as if it might track to far south and East for Eastern KS to get much. Western KS might see some healthy accumulations, especially North West. I'm not for sure what is causing that snow in Western KS other than strong Frontogenesis and Vorticity Advection. I haven't learned too much about winter precipitation processes. Either way, the United State's Total Snow Cover will certainly be increasing this next week or so.

That is a flawed projection. Everyone knows it doesn't snow WEST of the turnpike.

Tornado just went through Mobile, Alabama. Lots of confirmed damage, power outages, gas leaks. No details on injuries or deaths at this point.
