I'm very old school.
Top 3: Earth Wind and Fire, Santana, Rolling Stones.
After that, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, CCR, Chicago, Sly and the Family Stone (even if they were "Stoned" when they played here), Aerosmith, and The Bellamy Brothers.
Next favs: Eagles, ZZ Top, Fleetwood Mac, Grand Funk, Jethro Tull, Susan Tedeschi, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Add: I also like Bluegrass.

I like the Seekers and especially Judith Durham.
A forgotten oldie I like that you rarely hear anymore is Jimmie Rodgers (The Folk Singer - Homecomb, Kisses Sweeter than Wine, Oh-Oh I'm Falling in Love Again, Bimbombey and others).
I like me some good C&W story songs. Kenny Rogers (The Gambler and The Coward of the County), Marty Robbins' El Paso Trilogy (El Paso, Faleena and El Paso City) and Big Iron. Johnny Cash. Jimmy Dean's Big John.
I like just about anything except rap/hip-hop. Although I do like Cab Calloway's scatting.
Ray Stevens is a guilty pleasure with my favorite being the Mississippi Squirrel Revival (Have to watch the music video on this one) at the First Self-Righteous Church of Pascagoula. That said I think Ray's song Evergthing Is Beautiful is a terrific song.
Perhaps I should be embarrassed about liking the Little Nash Rambler (The Beep-Beep Song). On the other hand I post a lot on Shockerner so if I am not embarrassed about that there isn't much I would be emparrassed about.Last edited by 1972Shocker; June 22, 2024, 11:48 PM.

Also Kid Rock, Dionne Warwick, Lou Rawls, Toto & Def Leppard.

For TV. Married at First Sight. I blame my wife for that one.
Music, I am definitely not embarrassed by my love of Spyro Gyra. And if anybody says that is smooth jazz, I will hunt you down, force feed you hours and hours of smooth jazz, then give you a taste of heaven with several more hours of Spyro Gyra.

Offline, I told shoxlax that I once caught some crap for going to a Josh Groban concert. It was definitely for my wife, though I love JG as a vocalist. It’s like God touched his throat and said, “Go sing, young man!”78-65
