I was reading an article today about how data of AT&T customers was uploaded on the web last weekend. Sounds like there was a data breach back in 2021 of the data and a hacker tried to sell it. Social security numbers were in the data but were encrypted. However, last weekend, someone uploaded the data itself with the social security numbers no longer encrypted. So if you've been an AT&T customer since 2021 or prior, be sure to check your credit reports, put a freeze on them, and you can also add a credit alert to tell people who do check them that you might be a victim of identity theft.
Here is a good article about it (AT&T has denied the leak came from them) - https://www.troyhunt.com/inside-the-...t-data-breach/ - and you can check the Have I Been Pwned web site to see if your data was compromised - https://haveibeenpwned.com/
