  • SI is done

It sounds like all staff at Sports Illustrated was let go today.

RIP to what was once the premier sports publication, that also decided it would be a good idea to put a trans on the cover of the swimsuit issue.

If what I read was correct, the last two swimsuit issues featured trans "women" and the one before that, a 'full-figured" woman. It's what happens when a business stubbornly refuses to understand their customers.

This is almost as bad as when the National Lampoon ceased to exist.

Competition, winners and admiring beauty are so privileged and outdated.

Last March, SI also wrote an article supporting Trans women competing against other women (Olympics, etc.), so their evangelizing, went much further than trying to sexualize trans women. Their pathway isn't really any different than Disney, and I have heard that Disney is rethinking some of their recent movies, etc.

Actually, SI had 4 Cover Models, just one of them a tranny.

I'm surprised they weren't cancelled for their lack of diversity, to be honest.

They also offered Brooks Nader, Megan Fox and Martha Stewart (yes, THAT Martha Stewart, who is 82).

You just have to wonder what goes on in people's minds sometimes.

At Sports Illustrated, the people were a bunch of Ivy League graduates. Over time, their worldview disconnected from their consumers, the typical working-class sports fans.
