  • XXX Summer Olympics

You would think they would have called this the "30th Summer Olympics" instead of the "XXX Summer Olympics". I double-dog-dare anyone to Google "XXX Olympics".

The first time I saw "XXX Olympics" on the tv guide, it was on one of those random channels that they are broadcasting on. Something way down low on the guide list. I was like "hmmm, a documentary on naughty olympics on msnbc?"

Marketing fail on this one, Olympic committee.

Keeping with the theme of the XXX Olympics I guess it was more than appropriate for the winner of the Gold Medal in the Men's Trampoline competition was Dong Dong of China. Just to add some additional spice Dong Dong's teammate Lu Chunlong took home the bronze. Not exactly sure what they are judging in this competition.

If true, based on those scores Canada could use some "enhancement" surgery downtown.

I think the Canadians made a critical error when they took a quick swim to loosen up before the event:

Talk about shrinkage. 2 hours in the water should do the trick.

What I found interesting about this race was how close it was at the finish. The USA's Haley missing the gold by 0.4 seconds after nearly 2 hours of pushing through the H2O.

Was Manteo Mitchell's lead-off leg in the 4x400 relay prelims the performance of these olympics?

The Olympics are full of great athletes doing seemingly impossible things. Manteo Mitchell continued that narrative as he ran his part of the 4x400-meter relay on a broken leg...

As I watched that race I wasn't sure what happened to him. Pretty astounding if you ask me, but I don't think it's the story of the Olympics.

Usain Bolt stamping himself the greatest sprinter of all time has to be up there.

Personally, I have to go with the overall performance of the women of these games, especially the American women. They have performed at an exceedingly high level, and almost without fail, they've won and lost with class, intelligence and personality that has made them role models to look up to...I've been impressed to say the least.

Oh yeah....17 Golds and 21 overall medals for Michael Phelps...kind of an afterthought because he didn't win 8 this time.

His accomplishments are so INSANE they are almost discounted as expected....and they shouldn't be. He's THE greatest swimmer of all time...on the very short list of the greatest Olympians of all time and is the most decorated athlete of all time.

No doubt Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps stamped themselves the greatest ever at what they do. The thing with Bolt he wins easily and looks like he could go faster if he really needed to.

Kudos also to Ashton Eaton and Trey Hardee for their 1-2 finish in the decathlon, perhaps the most classic of events in the summer olympics the decathlon.

The USA Women have accounted for 53 of the teams 94 medals so far.
