Shockers Help Several Organizations Around Wichita During Serve-A-Thon

Wichita State's second Serve-A-Thon featured 139 student-athletes, coaches and staff members working around the area to package meals, do landscaping, pick up trash and more in late October.

"We got our teams involved and out in the community," said Brooke Schultz, student-athlete experience coordinator. "They had a good time giving back."

The volunteers totaled 271 service hours with 10 organizations.

Student-athletes, coaches and staff members helped at the following organizations:

• American Red Cross
• Tanganyika Wildlife Park
• Botanica
• Clapp Park
• Ability Point
• Senior Services of Wichita Meals on Wheels
• United Methodist Open Door Pantry
• Catholic Charities Harbor House
• The Treehouse
• Special Olympics
