I am really not much of a movie goer but I may have take this one in, especially since Hollywood apparently isn't really behind it:

The average unsuspecting movie-goers who enter the theaters expecting The Exorcist and walk out questioning every life choice they have ever made.

And make no mistake, this movie will get reactions. It was written with purpose to provoke.

There are literal jaw-dropping moments where you just can’t believe they went there.

But Nefarious is more than that.

In the pronoun-permeated Culture War, it is the equivalent of a spiritually-guided tactical nuke — the first such salvo from the conservative right.

And that alone is worth the price of admission.

Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints) stars as a convicted serial killer on his last day on Earth before he’s executed. Before he’s led off to his death, he’s psychiatrically evaluated by an atheist psychiatrist. The serial killer, simply known as “Nefarious,” reveals that he’s actually possessed by a demon, and what follows is a man attempting to secure his own modernistic worldview and the virtues he thinks come with it while the demon continues to throw reality in his face.

Just from that description, you can already begin to guess why mainstream critics really don’t like this movie. Yet, true to form, the audiences can’t recommend this movie enough. At the time of this writing, Rotten Tomatoes shows the critic score for Nefarious at 33 percent while the audience score is at a soaring 96 percent.

I'm intrigued. Critics hate it and it stars SPF.

From what I have heard and read SPF is fantastic in this movie. The actor who plays the psychiatrist, Jordan Belfi, has also is reportedly very good.
