Seriously need some run-off, tho. Most ponds and lakes are still down, are they not?

Some are, some aren't. But most could use some serious drainage.

Lake El Dorado is not down too much now, but local cattle ponds could use some more water for sure.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

You will still get run off, but you are going to be better off getting 2 inches of rain over a two week period, than getting 2 inches of rain tomorrow night and nothing more for that period.

My situation might be different from yours, but I need run-off far more than gentle rain.

And there are some who would rather not see any rain at all.

Farmers would like the rain to hold off for a couple of weeks. That will let them get the wheat cut and the next crop in. Then let the rains fall.

Tonights NAM was very intense as well. Stronger upper level flow over the warm front.

What does either of those posts mean? And I need runoff for my fishing pond.

that you might get some runoff for your fishing pond (unless your fishing pond is at PetSmart).
