And there is no rain in the forecast either. When the new drought maps come out we will be included. Dry and windy days cause it.

Could very well be entering a wetter pattern of sorts towards the next 120-168 horus or so.

For a few days now I've been seeing at least the possibility of rain just about every day next week.

I'd like to know which forecasts Dofo is looking at that is telling him there's no rain in the forecast.

He's definitely sticking to his sinking ship. This thread has epic potential.

71% of KS is abnormally dry
15% of KS is normal (or above)
11% of KS is Moderate Drought
3% of KS is Severe Drought

But in compared to what it was, the drought situation has improved substantially as there is no extreme or exeptional drough like there was last year.

If we can get a partial phase with the Sub-Tropical Jet feature along the US/Mexico border with the shortwave feature dropping down from Wyoming/NE here in the next 5 days that could mean very good chances for wetting rains.

Last nights Canadian model was very bullish with this scenario, and obviously I'd like to see that happen.

It will take years to recover from 2011, and 2012 is already critical. An occasional shower does virtually nothing.

We are just in a dry kansas. Seeing cold front comes through Nebraska and giving them widespread 3" of rain is awful, when the same front comes through here we get isolated .5"

Spin it out however you want to Dofo. No, we're not gonna be getting hurricane-like floods this week or month. But what's that in the forecast? Yup, you guessed it. Rain.

That's the thing, it isn't the same front.

Need 3-5" of rain in a short period of time. We have already gone 30 days with less than 1.5 inches of rain

No, we need 0.5 inch rains about twice a week. You get 3-5" in a short time it will be just all run off.
