What is everyone's opinion on Easter and Passover? One is kept through tradition and one is commanded to be kept. Or does it matter?

It really shouldn't matter, 79. Both certainly have their beliefs, traditions, followers, and charms.

I'm sure, like others on this board, my wife and I have often been privileged to share in the celebration of each holiday by both Jewish and Christian friends. While the holidays are splendid, its the friendships that matter the most.

And certainly the same holds true for Christmas and Hanukkah as well.

I guess it all depends on what you understand. Easter or Resurrection Sunday is the early church tradition kept on a prescribed Sunday based off the moon tied to the Gregorian calendar, while the Passover is tied to the Jewish calendar. The Seven Jewish feasts do have their ties to Christianity and are actually Prophecy.

Passover - picture of Christ Death
Feast of Unleavened Bread - burial of Christ
Feast of First Fruits - picture of the resurrection of Christ
Pentecost - picture of the descent of the holy spirit & the Birth of the Church
Feast of Trumpets - picture of the rapture
Feast of Atonement - picture of the 2nd coming of Christ
Feast of Tabernacle - millennial reign of Christ

So both Easter and the Passover (and other feasts) have (or should have) meaning to Christians.
