Tulsa Shock

I don't follow the WNBA at all. However, I was reading an article about athletes that had lost their fortunes and it included Marion Jones who they said played in the WNBA for the Tulsa Shock.

1st of all I did not know that Tulsa even had a WNBA team.

2nd I was very surprised that they named the team The Shock.

3rd I was even more surpried that their team colors were Black and Yellow.

Spokane has an arena football team called the Shock as well. What's with all these teams trying to be the wannabe Shockers?!

By the way, does anyone have any good theories why Wichita of all places doesn't have a NBA DL team??? I can't think of a more basketball crazed city, and from looking at the list of current franchises, Wichita would rank as one of the larger markets. Makes no sense to me that there's never seemed to be any mutual interest.

They tried several years ago to judge interest with the Wichita Outlaws. The team played pretty well as I remember, but played at CII in front of like 100 people.

With IBA, and how successful all 3 teams in KS have been in college basketball recently, I agree that it would be smart to have a DL team in Wichita. My friends and I have talked about this pretty extensively.

Lol. And NBADL team would be awesome. Considering their season lasts well past the CBB season. I think IBA would be to big but Hartman might be worth it

I remember that now. But didn't the Outlaws play in some bush league with players who had no chance of ever making it to a higher level? The Shockers could have probably beaten most of those Outlaws teams. That wouldn't interest me much either.

IIRC Rick Shore was the Outlaws coach, Coop was the top draft pick and Guff was on the roster...but I could be way off.
