I don't recommend State Farm to anyone. I use Wartick Insurance, which they have access to a number of different companies and they've been great. They're quick to respond to any questions and will hit me up every so often with possible options to switch or adjust my insurance, should I want more coverage or maybe save a little more by giving up a little bit here and there as new policies come aboard. My sister has since switched to them as well as my parents and I know my brother and his family were looking into it and I think they ended up switching. My parents and sister had State Farm but I believe my brother and his wife were with someone else.

I've just become a big advocate for people to take the time to shop around from time to time as there are companies out there that aren't just looking to screw you over and take everything they can. Yes, they're in it to make a profit as any business is, but some do it more right than others. I'm also not someone who is going to take the time to haggle down my agent every so often because they're assholes. Props to those that can and do, but I'd rather work with someone who wants to work with me. I don't want to play that game where I have to talk to them way too often. Same with cable/internet and whoever else is constantly raising rates because they feel that they can.

Based on the comments from WuTheOne and my buddies damage estimate, it sure seems you're on to something here. This needs to be addressed as it's absolutely taking advantage of the consumers. The only people winning here are the roofers and the insurance companies.

Along the same lines some car collision shops offer to give you your deductible back on repairs. This just raises everyone else's rates also.

MVJ seems to have had an experience on the other end of the spectrum though where they didn't want to pay out.
Shocker fan for life after witnessing my first game in person, the 80-74 win over the #12 Creighton Bluejays at the Kansas Coliseum.
