Joe Biden week just got worse - Major Hurricane forecast for the Gulf. Don't know how he will be able to handle to 2 extreme events occurring at the same time. Intensity is continuing to be upgraded - now Cat 4 is possible. With this track, New Orleans levies will be tested.

Very much so. The “Risk Reduction Area” is mostly concrete levees now. Much less risk of failure. Pumps are an issue, with some pumps known to already to be offline after a wet 2021, a stalled system could inflict huge amounts of rain they couldn’t keep up with.

I was in NOLA not too long after Katrina. Please God spare that wonderful cultural treasure. The music they make is simply unmatched.

New Orleans should be declared a no build zone. No new construction should be allowed there, only repairs to existing structures should be allowed. It is an immenent human-made catastrophe waiting to happen.
